High Protein / Low Carb Quest Hero Bars are made with a custom protein blend from Milk and Whey Protein Isolates. We chose Isolates because they remove extra fat and cut back on lactose in our bars. We use the same protein source in Hero Bars as we do in our world-famous Quest Bars. Every Hero Bar is packed with 9 essential amino acids to help stimulate muscle development and keep you #OnAQuest. Allulose, A Rare Sugar Is it sugar or not? Yes and no. Allulose is a rare sugar but unlike other sugars, it doesn’t metabolize in your bloodstream. It has the same taste and texture as sugar, but contributes less than 0.4 calories per gram compared to regular sugar which contributes 4 calories per gram. So the 13 grams of sugar in a Hero Bar only adds 5.2 calories in total.
